Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in Indianapolis is seeking a BIM Technician to support the creation, management, and coordination of Building Information Models for multiple projects. You will develop 3D BIM models and collaborate with field staff and project managers to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong BIM software skills (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and a proactive approach to quality control and project collaboration. Domestic travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree(s) in a relevant engineering or design field are preferred.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and standards.
• Familiarity with field coordination and laser scanning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models in Revit, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with field staff, modelers, and project managers to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Process data per SAM standards, verify accuracy, and ensure BIM deliverables meet project requirements.
• Monitor field crew production and perform quality assurance checks on deliverables.
• Perform initial QC of field deliverables according to established standards.
• Coordinate with supervisor to meet client-specific demands and project schedules.
• Occasionally travel to client sites as needed.
