Job summary

Actalent is seeking a BIM Specialist to support electrical installation by bridging field operations and the BIM team. You will route conduits in the field and translate conditions into BIM models to guide installation when 2D drawings are unavailable.

Based onsite in Tempe, AZ, you will use Revit, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD to model electrical systems, review layouts for constructability, and produce clear visual outputs for field crews. This role offers growth and a bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical installation experience with conduit routing in the field.
• Proven BIM experience with electrical systems in BIM environments.

Job Title: BIM Specialist

Job Description

The BIM Specialist supports electrical installation efforts by bridging field operations and the BIM team. This role focuses on routing conduits in the field based on guidance from superintendents, working within BIM models to create accurate layouts, measurements, and visual documentation that guide installation when traditional 2D drawings are not yet available.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on electrical installation experience with a strong understanding of conduit routing in the field.

• Proven electrical BIM experience, specifically working with electrical systems in BIM environments.

• Proficiency in Revit and Revit MEP for modeling and coordination of electrical components.

• Experience using AutoCAD for drafting and design support related to electrical construction.

• Ability to fly and navigate BIM models to extract measurements, review layouts, and identify routing options.

• Strong skills in creating and interpreting construction documents and BIM-based drawings.

• Solid modeling and drafting capabilities within BIM and CAD platforms.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with superintendents, BIM modelers, and field crews.

• Experience working on large projects, with the ability to manage complex information and multiple stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience interfacing directly with BIM teams to coordinate field conditions and model updates.

• Ability to translate field observations into clear, dimensioned visual outputs for installation crews.

• Experience in electrical construction environments, including familiarity with typical installation sequences and constraints.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced project setting with evolving designs and limited 2D documentation.

• Demonstrated ability to contribute to project success on large-scale construction projects.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to build positive working relationships across field and office teams.

• Motivation to grow within the role, with interest in upward mobility and taking on increased responsibility over time.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in a mobile office at the project location, providing close proximity to both field operations and project leadership. You will work daily with BIM software such as Revit, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD, and collaborate frequently with superintendents, BIM modelers, and field crews. The environment is dynamic and construction-focused, with opportunities to contribute directly to large, complex projects. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
