Position Summary
BIM/ REVIT/ Doc Control is responsible for producing and maintaining consultant-grade Revit models, drawing sets, and project documentation for technically complex life science capital projects as well as managing the creation, review, distribution, revision, and archival of facility design documentation throughout the project lifecycle — from early planning through construction and closeout. This role turns complex technology concepts into clear, coordinated documentation that architectural, MEP, and structural partners can rely on, while owning model sharing, version control, and document control workflows across all project phases. This role also ensures that drawings, specifications, and related design records are accurate, current, properly approved, and traceable at all times, serving as the single source of truth for design documentation across architecture, engineering, and construction teams. This is not an entry-level position; it requires hands‑on experience producing high-quality Revit documentation in a consulting or design environment, and a work ethic that supports Orchestra Life Sciences’ mission of delivering a fantastic customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Modeling & Documentation
- Develop and maintain Revit models and drawing sets across SD, DD, and CD, translating technology requirements into coordinated device layouts and infrastructure documentation, across all design
- Manage coordinate the various Revit models between design disciplines as well construction trade partners.
- Convert CAD base plans into usable Revit files to support modeling and drawing production.
- Incorporate PM/DE markups and direction into consultant models and drawing sets (TA, TN, TY),
- Coordinate scope within linked or detached architectural, structural, and MEP models, supporting clash and spatial coordination.
- Attend coordination meetings and communicate conflicts or discrepancies to the PM/DE for
- Partner with the PM/DE to set schedules, priorities, and time expectations for assigned tasks and
- Provide guidance to other Revit team members on company standards and Revit best practices.
Document Control
- Manage intake, logging, distribution, and filing of design documents (drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes) throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain version control and revision history for all facility design documents, ensuring only current, approved versions are in circulation 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud) including folder structures, naming conventions, and access permissions
- Track and manage the drawing/document review and approval workflow, routing documents to appropriate stakeholders and monitoring turnaround times
- Maintain master document registers/logs, including drawing lists, specification indexes, and
- Coordinate transmittals between design team, contractors, vendors, and owner's representatives
- Ensure document naming conventions, numbering systems, and file formats comply with project and organizational standards
- Support change control processes by tracking design change requests, linking them to affected documents, and ensuring updated documents are properly distributed
- Prepare and maintain as-built/record document sets at project closeout
- Conduct periodic document audits to identify gaps, outdated versions, or missing approvals
- Generate status reports on document workflow, outstanding reviews, and approval bottlenecks for project leadership
- Train project team members and contractors on document control procedures and system usage
- Ensure design documentation supports audit readiness and traceability requirements (e.g., linking drawings to URS, DQ, or change control records)
Standards, Document Control & Quality
- Maintain Revit project setup, templates, standards, and families in alignment with company standards.
- Manage model sharing, publishing, and version control across ACC/BIM Collaborate Pro and related
- Ensure alignment between live and linked models, exports, and issued drawing packages across all project phases.
- Perform QA/QC to confirm accuracy, consistency, and completeness prior to issuance, including peer review of other team members’ work when required.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience using Revit to produce consultant‑grade construction documentation in a consulting or design environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM Collaborate Pro, and familiarity with CAD‑to‑Revit workflows.
- Experience coordinating work within multidisciplinary models and project teams.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, organized plans, sections, details, and Understanding of architectural and construction documentation processes and standard consultant drawing conventions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Navisworks or ACC Model Coordination experience
- Relevant certifications (Autodesk, CTS, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, quality, accuracy, and consistency across every deliverable
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction while asking the right questions.
