Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks a BIM Modeling & Detailing Lead in the VDC Department to advance 3D modeling and shop drawings for Hoffman’s self-perform scopes, including concrete, rebar, mass timber, and wall framing. You will ensure constructability and model accuracy while coordinating with field teams and external firms.

With a background in AEC and at least 5 years of related experience, you will drive BIM workflows, oversee 4D planning, and lead asset libraries while integrating new VDC

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Structural or Architectural), AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk Forma.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Working knowledge of BIM and VDC workflows across all phases of a project lifecycle.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage LOD 400 fabrication-quality 3D models across assigned self-perform scopes.
• Produce accurate shop drawings for field use, interpreting design documents to inform fabrication models and construction details.
• Manage 3D models to support quantity take-offs and material tracking.
• Collaborate with field crews to deliver visualizations and advance model-to-field workflows.
• Review the construction schedule and develop logistics plans and 4D animated exhibits for field coordination.
• Lead coordination meetings with project team and third-party modeling firms.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings; manage issue tracking and drive resolution via the GC's platform.
• Provide updates on VDC activities and upcoming deliverables.
• Develop and maintain model asset libraries and reusable details.
• Support integration of emerging VDC technologies into workflows.
• Promote virtual building culture among teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in departmental R&D initiatives.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
