Job summary

Barker Associates seeks a Structural Technician for the Braintree Office. Hybrid working may be available based on business needs. You will produce outputs in 2D/3D, develop constructible details, and support BIM/standards across projects.

Ideal candidates tolerate PM work, have AutoCAD/Revit experience, and understand UK detailing practices. DBS check and driving licence are noted expectations.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Progress toward EngTech or IEng with ICE or IStructE.
• CDM 2015 principles knowledge for risk communication.
• AutoCAD proficiency for detailing and coordination.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D, Site 3D, Revit and CDE platforms.
• Familiar with ISO 19650 and CDE environments.
• Ability to interpret technical information with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Good grasp of UK detailing practices and buildability.

Responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate 2D and 3D design outputs and schedules.
• Develop constructible details from engineer sketches and specs.
• Maintain consistent presentation and model organisation.
• Undertake clash checks and resolve issues with internal teams.
• Support reinforced concrete detailing and reinforcement schedules.
• Contribute to BIM Execution Plan and Model Production & Delivery Table.
• Comply with CDM 2015 principles and record design risk information.
• Plan workloads, manage small work packages and report progress.
• Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards and processes.
