Job summary

Alterman is seeking Layout Technicians to join our team in Live Oak, TX. The role uses Trimble Field Link and Robotic Total Station equipment to execute layout points with accuracy, support BIM coordination, and maintain electronic documentation.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 4 years of experience or CST Level II, and working knowledge of Trimble Field Link. This on-site position involves travel between jobsites and exposure to construction environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CST Level II or 4 years of surveying experience.
• Working knowledge of Trimble Field Link.
• Construction or electrical jobsite experience required.

Responsibilities

• Meets with Foreman to review layout priorities and daily needs.
• Sets up, operates, and maintains layout equipment on active sites.
• Performs point layout and as-built data collection per BIM/CAD files.
• Maintains electronic logs of points and submits to BIM for review.
• Identifies field-BIM discrepancies and communicates resolutions.
• Calibrates equipment and performs software updates as required.
• Troubleshoots equipment, connectivity, and data transfer issues.
• Ensures barricading and safe equipment positioning on jobsites.
• Travels between multiple jobsites as needed.
