Job summary

ISG is seeking a BIM/CAD Operator to create and modify elements in a virtual environment using industry software. You will model electrical systems, set up Revit views, and prepare shop drawings for installation.

Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities are essential. Requirements include an associate degree in CAD or related field (or equivalent) and 2 years in electrical construction, with experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Model electrical systems based on markup drawings or verbal direction.
• Setup Revit views and sheets for shop drawings.

• Mark up PDFs with Bluebeam Revu and communicate with team.
• Prepare copies and transmittals of documents.
• Download drawings from Web/SharePoint/project sites.
• Check own work for accuracy before passing on.
• Perform other tasks and special projects.

Job Summary

The BIM/CAD Operator is responsible for creating and modifying elements within a virtual environment using industry specific software applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• A working knowledge of computer aided drafting and software applications at a level normally acquired through completion of an associate’s degree in computer aided design and drafting or related field or equivalent experience; and
• 2 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Experience in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, Bluebeam Revu, Trimble, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.
• Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
• Fluency in the 2D and 3D space.
• Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
• Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
• Fluency with all plotters, printers and reproduction systems used in house or on the job site.
• Fluency for importing documents, such as spread sheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
• Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
• Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Model electrical systems based on markup drawings and/or verbal direction provided by electrical detailers
• Setup of Revit views and sheets in preparation for shop drawings
• Annotate and dimension shop drawings for field installation
• Utilize Bluebeam Revu software to markup PDF drawings and communicate with team members
• Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for transmittal to other parties
• Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, BIM360, etc.)
• Check own work for accuracy before passing on to others
• Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Offering: $30 - $36 per hour

• PTO accrual of up to 120 hours in a full year (subject to plan terms thereafter)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Required to maintain a valid driver\'s license
• Requires travel: Minimal (up to 10%)
• Experience in the construction industry preferred
• Experience in creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry
