Job summary

ISG is seeking a BIM/CAD Operator to create and modify elements within a virtual environment using industry software. The role emphasizes coordinating electrical systems, preparing shop drawings, and communicating with the design team on project milestones.

Responsibilities include setting up Revit views, annotating drawings, and ensuring accuracy before submission. Experience with Autodesk tools and MS Office is preferred, with a focus on collaboration and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in CAD or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in the electrical construction industry; knowledge of electrical symbols and drafting conventions.

Responsibilities

  • Model electrical systems based on markup drawings and verbal direction.
  • Setup Revit views and sheets for shop drawings.
  • Annotate and dimension shop drawings for field installation.
  • Use Bluebeam Revu to markup PDFs and communicate with team.
  • Prepare copies and transmittal sets.
  • Download drawings from project websites (FTP, BIM360, SharePoint).
  • Check own work for accuracy before passing to others.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The BIM/CAD Operator is responsible for creating and modifying elements within a virtual environment using industry specific software applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A working knowledge of computer aided drafting and software applications at a level normally acquired through completion of an associate's degree in computer aided design and drafting or related field or equivalent experience; and
  • 2 years' experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Experience in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, Bluebeam Revu, Trimble, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.
  • Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
  • Fluency in the 2D and 3D space.
  • Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
  • Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
  • Fluency with all plotters, printers and reproduction systems used in house or on the job site.
  • Fluency for importing documents, such as spread sheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Model electrical systems based on markup drawings and/or verbal direction provided by electrical detailers
  • Setup of Revit views and sheets in preparation for shop drawings
  • Annotate and dimension shop drawings for field installation
  • Utilize Bluebeam Revu software to markup PDF drawings and communicate with team members
  • Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for transmittal to other parties
  • Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, BIM360, etc.)
  • Check own work for accuracy before passing on to othersPerforms other tasks and special projects as assigned
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Offering: $30 - $36 per hour

  • PTO accrual of up to 120 hours in a full year (subject to plan terms thereafter)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Required to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Requires travel: Minimal (up to 10%)
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Experience in creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry
