Job summary

RRMM Architects, an architectural and interior design firm, seeks an Assistant BIM Manager to support BIM operations across design, coordination, and project delivery in Chesapeake, VA. The role collaborates closely with the BIM Manager and project teams to ensure accurate BIM workflows and efficient coordination.

The position involves model setup, clash detection, 3-D scanning workflows, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Two+ years of proven experience operating 3-D scanning equipment and software.
• Proficiency in 3-D modeling software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to travel to project sites with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the BIM Director in developing and maintaining BIM standards, workflows and protocols.
• Support project teams in model setup, coordination and clash detection using BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D).
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve coordination issues.
• Prepare BIM executive plans and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Use 3D scanning equipment to capture high-resolution images and data of objects, structures, or environments.
• Set up and calibrate 3-D scanners according to project requirements.
• Conduct scans in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments.
• Process and analyze scanned data to create accurate 3-D models.
• Maintain and troubleshoot scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Document scanning procedures and results for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3-D scanning technology and techniques.
