Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking a Billing Specialist I to work closely with Project Managers throughout the engagement lifecycle, ensuring timely, accurate invoices and month-end WIP adjustments. The role aims to reduce admin time for billable professionals while maintaining professional client interactions.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of billing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or commensurate work experience.
• 1+ years of billing experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Familiarity with time-and-expense billing models and engagement-based invoicing.
• Travel required to clients and FTI office(s).
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Send Invoice to Client.
• Invoice retainers, fixed fees or hourly engagements consistent with contract terms.
• Input PM invoice edits and finalize/send invoice to client with PM approval.
• Process write-downs/ups as required, with proper approval.
• Assist with monthly revenue close process and WIP adjustments.
• Monitor aging A/R and assist collections efforts.
