Job summary

PIMSY is seeking a Billing Specialist for a fully remote role. You will handle end-to-end claims processing in mental health billing, including generation, denials, posting payments, and reporting, while maintaining strong client relationships within our EHR platform.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in mental health billing (UB-04, CMS-1500) and excel at organization and clear communication in a fast-moving startup environment. Preference given to candidates in states with existing team presence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years prior experience in mental health billing, including outpatient, residential/inpatient, and IOP billing.
• Expertise in residential and outpatient mental health billing regulations (UB-04 and CMS-1500).
• Strong organizational skills and comfortable working in a fast-changing startup environment.
• Intermediate spreadsheet skills (e.g. data manipulation and pivot tables).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote position for a Billing Specialist to join our growing team. We are growing quickly and are hiring a billing team member to support our customers as we offer revenue cycle services here at PIMSY. This position will work claims from start to finish, including claim generation, denial and rejection management, payment posting, and reporting to customers. This role will develop relationships with a small set of assigned customers whose A/R you will be responsible to manage from within our own EHR.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in mental health billing, organized, quick to communicate, and focused on delivering an incredible customer experience. You care about finding efficient ways to work, you love researching complex claims issues... and arguing with the occasional insurance company.
