RemoteLeads seeks a billing specialist to manage invoices for a fast-growing law firm serving founders and executives. This fully remote, full-time independent contractor role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional collaboration with partners and finance teams.

You will prepare, review, and issue invoices, review time entries, reconcile data, and resolve billing inquiries. The role requires 2–5+ years in billing/AR, ERP experience, and comfort with AI tools; US Eastern Time

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations.
• Experience with ERP or legal billing tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted billing features in accounting/ERP platforms.

Description:

• Prepare, review, and issue accurate invoices based on billable hours and client-specific arrangements.
• Coordinate with partners and internal stakeholders to validate billing details.
• Track billing schedules and meet invoicing deadlines.
• Review time entries, expenses, and billing data for accuracy and compliance.
• Resolve billing questions and disputes with internal teams and clients.
• Maintain organized billing records and documentation.
• Ensure billing data is complete and current for month-end processes.
• Identify recurring billing issues and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate with collections and accounts receivable through the transition from invoicing to payment.

Requirements:

• 2–5+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations.
• Experience with accounting or billing systems, including ERP or legal billing tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted billing tools and AI features in accounting or ERP platforms.
• Willingness to adopt AI-augmented workflows for data entry, payment follow-ups, and reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with hourly, fixed-fee, and retainer billing structures.
• Clear communication and effective issue-resolution skills.
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines.
• Solid Excel skills and confidence working with data.
• Ability to support US Eastern Time working hours.
