Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Billing Specialist in Springfield, MO to ensure accuracy in billing claims to insurance companies and maintain knowledge of billing regulations. You will review and bill compliant claims, resolve issues, and strive to meet departmental goals for cash collection, productivity and days in accounts receivable.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent; preferred: 1 year of business office experience. This position operates on a day shift in a 40-hour workweek.

Job Description

The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accuracy in billing claims to insurance companies. The position is responsible for attaining and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of billing regulations and guidelines set by the insurance companies. Reviews to efficiently bill compliant claims and resolve billing issues. Strives to complete assigned work daily and accurately in order to meet or exceed departmental goals such as cash collection, productivity and days in A/R.

Education:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Preferred: 1 year business office experience
