Responsibilities

  • Process ambulance billing claims accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information; complete required forms.
  • Enter claim details into the billing system within 72 hours of service.
  • Identify responsible party and bill per payer guidelines.
  • Review aging reports and follow up on claims with outcomes reported to manager.
  • Receive and apply payments; manage denials and patient inquiries; ensure HIPAA compliance.

Billing Specialist | RemoteAre you detail-oriented and committed to providing excellent customer service? Join MMT Ambulance as a Billing Specialist, where you will process ambulance billing claims accurately and efficiently while serving as a key point of contact for patients, families, insurance companies, and attorneys. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and strict adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide the highest level of customer service to a wide variety of internal and external customers.Manage and maintain billing processes by verifying the completion of run reports daily and generating 24-hour report to the managerVerify and obtain patient demographics, personal insurance information and completion of all required formsEnter necessary and required claim information into the billing system within 72 hours of date of service.Identify the responsible party for ambulance transports and bill according to the specific guidelines set forth by the payer.Review aging report monthly and follow up with claims- report outcome to managerKeep manager informed of any situations related to insurance denials, patient accounts, or patient complaints.Receive payment for services and apply accordingly. Checking and balancing daily.Collections- set up payment arrangements, review calls for proper billing, financial assistant forms etc.Abides by federal, state, and local laws.Physical Demands:Must be ale to sit for long periods of timeMust be able to hear wellMust be able to speak, write, and understand English fluentlyQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required.
