Billing Analyst – Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Lafayette, LA

A leading law firm is seeking a Billing Specialist to join its team. This position is based in the firm’s Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Lafayette office. The ideal candidate will have experience with e-billing, paper billing, & experience with pre-billing. If you're looking to grow your career at a top law firm, don't hesitate to reach out!

Key Responsibilities:

Compile accurate timekeeper hours and client costs for monthly billing or as directed by attorneys.
Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney requests and execute complex bills in a timely manner.
Verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
Research and respond to billing-related inquiries and issues.
Review new matter setups and ensure billing instructions are accurately entered.
Coordinate with attorneys on billing rates, instructions, and special client requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of client billing guidelines and keep billing team informed of changes.
Develop and document new billing guidelines as needed.
Utilize billing/accounting software (Aderant Expert) for billing and reporting functions.
Assist with legal inquiries, litigation, and audit documentation as needed.
Analyze client write-downs and collaborate with attorneys on appeals.
Participate in special projects and process improvements.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional services firm; law firm experience is highly preferred.
Experience with electronic billing software is preferred.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Highly responsive to communications and requests.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with comprehensive accounting systems is a plus.
