Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years experience in Insurance billing in a SNF setting.
• Emdeon and PCC experience are a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong knowledge of billing and collection practices.
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily discharge billing for multiple facilities.
• Daily review and follow up on aging claims.
• Monthly billing and close for buildings.
• Bill claims within required timeframe from service date.
• Investigate problems and re-bill as needed.
• Identify and manage authorizations, denials, and appeals.
• Communicate professionally with patients, insurers, physicians, and clinical staff.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

The Billing Specialist is responsible for billing for multiple facilities Managed Care claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 1. Daily discharge billing
• 2. Daily review and follow up on outstanding claims on aging
• 3. Monthly billing of claims and responsible to handle the month end close for building(s).
• 4. Bills all claims within appropriate timeframe from the date of service.
• 5. Investigates all problems and solves all problem claims while correcting information in order to re-bill claim.
• 6. Identifies and manages authorization, insurance changes, denials and appeals.
• 7. Communicates professionally and effectively with patients, insurance companies, physicians and clinical personnel.
• 8. Assist with special projects as needed

Position Requirements
