James River Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Full-time Home Health Billing Specialist to join our growing team. You will focus on accurate and timely billing, claims submission, accounts receivable tracking, and follow-up.

This in-person role operates Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. You will handle Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and patient billing while maintaining confidentiality and supporting hospice billing as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of home health, hospice or healthcare billing experience preferred.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient billing information accurately to ensure clean claims.
• Verify visits and required documentation before submitting claims.
• Review SOC, OASIS and patient billing information in HCHB.
• Complete insurance verifications and confirm patient eligibility and coverage.
• Prepare and submit Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and patient claims on time.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims and denials.
• Track NOAs and other required billing documentation.
• Assist with hospice billing as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

James River Home Health is actively seeking a Full-time Home Health Billing Specialist to join our growing team! This position will primarily focus on home health billing but may occasionally assist with hospice billing as needed. You will be responsible for accurate and timely billing, claims submission, accounts receivable tracking, and follow-up.

Schedule:

Full-time Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm (In Person)

A brief overview of Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter patient billing information, including visits and charges, to ensure clean claims.
• Verify completed visits and required documentation before submitting claims.
• Review Start of Care (SOC), OASIS and patient billing information in HCHB.
• Complete insurance verifications and confirm patient eligibility and coverage.
• Prepare and submit Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and patient claims accurately and on time.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing issues, denials and rejections.
• Track Notices of Admission (NOAs) and other required billing documentation.
• Assist with hospice billing and provide additional billing support as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  

Ideal Candidate:

• 1 to 2 years of home health, hospice or healthcare billing experience preferred
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance billing
• Familiarity with HCHB, OASIS and home health billing requirements preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High school Diploma/GED required
