The Opportunity: The Patient Services Representative is responsible for performing specialized and technical duties in support of Cougar Health Services. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: reviewing medical records to ensure accurate diagnostic and procedure codes, answering telephones, processing and preparing charge documents, submitting claims to various third party payers and state and federal agencies, obtaining prior authorizations and scheduling referral appointments, establishing eligibility, processing medical and pharmacy remittance advices, maintaining assigned insurance accounts receivables, evaluate patient financial status, and other duties as assigned. Medical billing experience is preferred, and knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding is also desirable.
This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,485 to $4,633 | Range 38 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
