Job summary

Metro Electric Supply is seeking a Billing Specialist to review tickets and orders for pricing accuracy and ensure timely invoicing. You will work with Sales, Purchasing, Operations and Finance to maintain reliable data in the ERP system and support month-end close processes.

The role emphasizes accurate billing, rebates administration and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen financial controls and customer service. Monday–Friday, on-site in Missouri, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Billing, pricing and related business functions experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of general accounting concepts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel including sorting, filtering, formulas and data review.

Responsibilities

• Review sales tickets, orders and related transactions for pricing, cost, item, customer and vendor accuracy before billing.
• Ensure customer invoices and statements are issued accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain item, pricing, cost, customer and vendor information in the ERP system with Purchasing, Sales and Operations.
• Administer customer rebates, vendor rebates and special pricing programs.
• Prepare and review recurring reports for sales leadership and management.

• The role partners with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance to maintain reliable data, resolve discrepancies, support timely invoicing, and strengthen financial and operational controls.

• The role partners with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance to maintain reliable data, resolve discrepancies, support timely invoicing, and strengthen financial and operational controls.

Typical Functions Of The Billing Group

• Reviews sales tickets, orders, and related transactions for pricing, cost, item, customer, and vendor accuracy before billing or downstream processing.
• Ensure customer invoices and statements are issued accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Operations to maintain accurate item, pricing, cost, customer, and vendor information in the ERP system.
• Administer customer rebates, vendor rebates, special pricing agreements, and other pricing programs.
• Prepare and review recurring reports for sales leadership and management as assigned.
• Support month-end close activities by preparing reporting requested by the Finance leader or other general accounting tasks as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, data quality, reporting, and cross-functional communication while balancing accuracy, timeliness, and customer service.
• Protect confidential company, customer, vendor, and employee information and follow records-retention and data-security requirements.
• Perform other related duties consistent with the role’s purpose and level of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in billing, pricing, and related business functions preferred.
• Working knowledge of general accounting concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and data review.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully by phone, email, and in person.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience communicating clearly and professionally with internal partners and external customers and vendors.
• Experience with Eclipse or a comparable distribution ERP system.
• Experience with rebates, special pricing agreements, commission support, margin reporting, account reconciliations, or month-end close support.

Shift and Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Compensation Details:

The expected starting rate of pay for this position is $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
