Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Payer Receivable Coordinator to assist leadership in overseeing daily billing operations at the Riedman Campus in Rochester, NY. The role includes assigning and monitoring work to maximize collections and analyzing receivables for workflow improvements.

The position requires 1 year of related healthcare or customer service experience, strong communication, and proficiency with payer systems and coding. Full-time daytime schedule, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient working knowledge of assigned receivable systems.
• Working knowledge of payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies.
• General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance compliance issues.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 diagnosis, procedure codes and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Knowledge of UBO4 billing form and 1500F05 payer requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and common office equipment.
• Excellent problem solving, organizational and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily billing operations in collaboration with leadership.
• Support new, temporary, and outsourced staff.
• Provide feedback on team performance to leadership.
• Interact with HIM, Revenue Integrity and FERC to resolve billing issues.
• Coordinate timely completion of special billing projects.
• Crosstrain on multiple billing platforms as needed.
• Research and respond to internal and external inquiries professionally.
• Identify potential billing compliance issues and inform leadership.
• Assist in coordinating new services and practices.
• Participate in process improvement committees.
