Our client, a healthcare revenue cycle management company, seeks a Billing Operations Specialist on a temporary basis that could lead to a permanent position. They support more than 1,100 ambulatory surgery centers, surgical practices, hospitals, and anesthesia groups nationwide, offering medical billing, collections, and revenue recovery services.

The ideal candidate has medical office experience, basic billing experience, and strong administrative skills.

Qualifications

• Medical office front desk experience required.
• Understanding of insurance eligibility verification and communicating with insurance carriers.
• Experience speaking with patients about billing and insurance questions, including explaining their Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and billing compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Explain patient statements, outstanding balances, deductibles, and why patients received a bill.
• Assist patients with insurance-related questions and guide next steps with their carrier.
• Occasionally assist with three-way calls involving patients and insurance companies.
• Direct patients to the medical office for payments; no payments collected over the phone.
