Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking an experienced and highly organized Business Office Manager to lead the facility’s financial operations, including resident billing, accounts receivable, and cash posting.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare billing experience, a strong understanding of Medicare/Medi-Cal and managed care billing, and the ability to ensure accuracy and compliance while collaborating with leadership. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare billing experience is required (in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred).
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, insurance, and private-pay billing.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the facility's business office.
• Oversee resident billing, accounts receivable, collections, and cash posting.
• Process Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, insurance, and private-pay billing.
• Verify resident insurance coverage and financial information.
• Monitor aging reports and address outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate resident financial records and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with residents, families, insurance companies, and government agencies regarding billing matters.
• Assist with resident admissions and financial agreements.
• Process deposits and reconcile facility accounts.
• Prepare financial reports and meet reporting deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
