Job summary

Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP is seeking a Billing Supervisor for our Hilo, HI site. The role oversees billing operations, ensures accuracy and timeliness, and resolves issues with insurers and customers. Strong leadership and extensive billing experience are required.

The position supports in‑office day shifts, with a salary range of 65,000–80,000 USD per year, depending on experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred alongside medical billing expertise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Medical coding (ICD-9) knowledge preferred.
• 5+ years in billing; 3+ years in medical office billing preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and standard office tools.
• Strong math, analytical and data entry skills.
• Leadership, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Pass drug testing; maintain confidentiality and compliance.
• Excellent organizational and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily billing area activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Acts as liaison between company, insurers, and customers; resolves issues.
• Supervises and schedules staff; monitors performance per HR guidelines.
• Maintains staff schedules, timesheets, PTO/vacations; ensures coverage.
• Trains team and updates on policies and procedures.
• Prepares statistical reports for internal/external use.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with privacy rules.
