We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to provide leadership and drive best practices within our billing team. This role requires managing and overseeing the daily operations of the billing function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the billing function, assigning work across the team.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure billing support is complete, accurate, on time, and compliant.
• Lead, mentor, and guide GMP billing specialists ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers to prepare, adjust, and verify pre-bill documents before invoicing.
• Prepare timely and accurate AIA progress and other billings, entering data into systems and jobs accurately.
• Collaborate with Corporate accounting to obtain necessary insurance, fringe, and other information for billing support.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers, answering invoicing questions or managing related issues.
• Assist with contract preparation, review, pre-qualifications, and change orders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues, acting as an escalation point for internal and external customers.
• Prepare conditional and unconditional waivers.
• Assist with special projects, billing/collection research, and ad hoc analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance of all billing processes with accounting standards, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.
• Conduct thorough billing audits to verify all costs are billed according to contract guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Construction Billing Manager experience.
• 6+ years of overall construction billing experience, including GMP billing.
• 6+ years of AIA billing experience.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  
  

Work Environment

Our work environment offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, with the expectation to be in the office one day per week. The billing manager will lead a team with members located remotely across various states. Our largest markets include offices in St. Paul, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Bowie, MD; and Las Vegas, NV, among others. We provide a supportive atmosphere with no micromanagement, focusing on leading an established and tenured team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $48.00/hr.
