Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Billing Manager to lead our remote bookkeeping team and oversee all aspects of our billing operations. This position plays a key leadership role, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity in our invoicing processes across four distinct billing cycles. With over 280 offices nationwide, the Billing Manager will serve as the go-to resource for conflict resolution and billing process optimization, working closely with our field-based Operating Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Four Billing Cycles: Ensure smooth execution of weekly invoicing, billing cycles, client billing, and month-end processes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and support the bookkeeping team responsible for:
  • Invoice generation and processing
  • Applying payments to client accounts
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Managing and resolving aged accounts receivable
  • Conflict Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for billing disputes and escalations from Operating Directors across 280+ offices.
  • Reconciliation Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate month-end and bank reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and refine billing workflows for efficiency and scalability.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Monitor billing KPIs and compliance with financial controls and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in billing, A/R, or bookkeeping leadership roles
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and billing operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing remote teams of 5+
  • Proven conflict resolution and cross-functional communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Experience with multi-cycle billing processes and financial systems preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-volume, multi-location service environments
  • Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving organization
