Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in accounts receivable management or supervision.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong supervisory, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, mentor and evaluate billing and surgery scheduling staff.
  • Monitor submission of clean claims and appeals process.
  • Oversee billing, coding, and collections to maximize cash flow.
  • Analyze A/R aging reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor surgery scheduling and assist with related issues.
  • Assist with advanced imaging authorizations.
  • Complete provider credentialing with payers and update payer rosters.
  • Update CAQH for all providers.
  • Identify payer issues and resolve.
  • Perform annual required education; adhere to HIPAA and regulations.

BILLING MANAGER

Indiana’s premier center for orthopedic care is hiring for a Medical Billing Manager. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the billing and surgery scheduling department. This is an in‑house position not set up for remote, serious candidates only

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hiring, training, mentoring and evaluating billing and surgery scheduling staff to maintain high accuracy and productivity.
  • Monitor the submission of clean claims to insurance providers, managing rejected claims and overseeing the appeals process.
  • Monitor day-to-day operation of billing, coding, and collections to maximize cash flow and minimize denied claims.
  • Analyze A/R aging reports to identify trends, underpayments, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Monitor surgery scheduling and assist with issues or completion as needed.
  • Monitor and assist with advanced imaging authorizations.
  • Complete provider credentialing with payers.
  • Ensure all payer rosters are updated.
  • Ensure CAQH is updated for all providers.
  • Identify payer issues and work to resolve.
  • Complete annual education courses as required.
  • Follow HIPAA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises6-7employees within thebilling and surgery scheduling department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years or more of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Electronic Health Records (EHR) Software; Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
  • Other skills required:
    • At least 2-3 years of experience as accounts receivable manager or supervisor.
    • Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.
    • The ability to work accurately and independently.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • An eye for detail along with excellent analytical skills.
    • Excellent report writing skills.
    • Strong time and people management skills.
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
