Job summary

Snap-Diagnostics is seeking a Billing/Insurance Support specialist in Vernon Hills, IL to ensure accurate patient billing and smooth insurance workflows. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with Microsoft Office and phone etiquette.

You will post payments, handle claims, follow CPT coding guidelines, and communicate with patients and insurers. This is a full-time, on-site position with an hourly salary in the $18–$20 range and opportunities to backup colleagues

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two-year college or equivalent.
• Six months to one year related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals.
• ISO Auditor and Notary certificates are helpful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Post payments, deductibles and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently.
• Bill patients based on out-of-pocket quotes and insurance allowances with management approval when needed.
• Submit original, corrected, and secondary claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
• Call insurance companies to justify claim denials and send appeals if necessary.
• Receive calls from patients, insurance companies, sales representatives, and doctors’ offices regarding billing and payments.
• Stay current with insurance guidelines and CPT and diagnostic coding.
• Scan all relevant EOBs and letters to patient accounts for proper handling.
• Back up for other billing staff when absent.
