Job Description: Bi-Lingual Medical Billing Customer Service Support

Bi-Lingual Medical Billing Customer Service Support Representative is on site in Oak Brook Terrace, IL. Team member will be responsible for assisting patients, insurance companies, and internal team members with billing inquiries, providing timely and accurate response to billing / account questions, collecting patient payments, creation of payments plans, reviewing insurance and ensuring the overall satisfaction of our clients. This role involves heavy inbound and outbound calls with patients to address any concerns regarding medical claims, payments, patient balances and insurance coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries regarding medical billing, insurance claims, and payments.
  • Place outbound calls to discuss patient balances and provide payment options
  • Assist patients with understanding their medical bills, insurance coverage, and any discrepancies.
  • Review and resolve billing issues, including rejected or denied insurance claims, coding errors, and underpayments.
  • Provide clear explanations of insurance benefits, payment structures, and patient responsibilities.
  • Process and manage patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  • Assist with insurance claim submissions, ensuring accurate coding and timely follow-up.
  • Document all customer interactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.
  • Identify and escalation unresolved billing issues to supervisor for further investigation.
  • Provide feedback on recurring billing issues or inefficiencies to help improve processes and customer service.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in medical billing, coding, or customer service within the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims processing, medical terminology, and healthcare billing systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT codes, HCPCS) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex billing issues in a clear and professional manner. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
