Job summary

Gibson Center for Behavioral Change is seeking a Billing Specialist to support its financial and billing operations. The role focuses on accurate service documentation, data entry, and preparing information for billing audits. The position reports to the CFO and requires meticulous data handling and confidentiality.

The Billing Specialist will enter service codes, review documentation, maintain rosters, and assist with billing-related tasks. Experience with EHRs and billing systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior clerical, administrative, billing, or data-entry experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records, billing systems, or healthcare documentation preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; Microsoft Office and email proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain service data for invoicing and billing.
• Review billing documentation for accuracy and complete codes.
• Maintain program rosters and distribute updates to staff.
• Prepare logs and documentation for billing and compliance.
• Assist staff with billing-related projects and data entry tasks.
• Enter data into electronic systems and maintain records.
• Support billing and service tracking with status forms.
• Prepare service delivery logs for audits and reviews.
• Assist with organizing discharged client files as needed.
• Collect data for performance improvement activities.
• Disseminate billing, financial, and program information to stakeholders.
• Respond to calls professionally and route to appropriate staff.
• Safeguard confidential information per policies and HIPAA.
• Support CFO with special projects and administrative duties.
• Run errands to banks, post offices, or other locations as needed.
