Job summary

Hospice of the Valley is seeking a healthcare Billing Specialist to manage billing and collection activities across its programs. The role involves EMR-based pre-billing reviews, submitting claims, and tracking payer adjudication to ensure prompt reimbursement.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in healthcare billing, with knowledge of Medicare/MediCare Advantage, AHCCCS and commercial insurance, and strong communication and data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of healthcare billing and collections experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance and AHCCCS billing.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Bill assigned payers and programs and complete pre-billing review.
• Submit and follow claims through the clearinghouse to payer adjudication.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with payers and patients.
• Post payments and adjustments when applicable and maintain A/R documentation.
• Provide responsive service to internal and external customers.
