Job summary

UT Health Sciences in Knoxville, TN seeks an Administrative Associate 2 to provide billing support for the UT Internal Medicine & OB/GYN Resident Center. You will assist with coding, posting charges and payments, and follow up on denials to ensure accurate billing.

The role requires at least two years of billing experience, a high school diploma, and CPC certification is preferred. Training with Cerner EMR/PM and detailed attention to accuracy are essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• Two years of billing or related office experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies proper billing methods are adhered to as set for by CMS and CoM.
• Works outstanding accounts receivables by following up on claims, denials, and insurance issues.
• Charges data entry of charges for Internal Medicine and OB/GYN.
• Performs electronic posting of most payments through CPS PM billing module.
• Reviews ICD 10 and CPT coding prior to billing.
• Contacts physician for clarification when necessary.
• Verifies weekly deposits.
• Educates residents in coding and billing protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
