Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of billing or related office experience; OR Associate’s Degree in lieu of experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred; copy of license/certification required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies proper billing methods per CMS and CoM.
• Works outstanding accounts receivable by following up on claims and denials.
• Charges data entry of charges for Internal Medicine and OB/GYN.
• Performs electronic posting of most payments through Intergy.
• Reviews ICD-10 and CPT coding prior to billing.
• Contacts the physician for clarification when necessary.
• Verifies weekly deposits.
• Educates residents in coding and billing protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
