Inspira Financial is seeking a Billing Analyst in Oak Brook, IL to review client contracts, set up billing items, and ensure accurate revenue recognition across the organization. You will collaborate with Sales, Implementation, and Client Services to guarantee proper billing and timely posting of revenue.

The role supports month-end close, prepares billing reports, and maintains meticulous documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting, billing, or contract administration experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review finalized client contracts and fee schedules for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Verify that all documentation is signed and pricing/terms align with approved deal structures.
• Set up fee schedules and billing items in the accounting system with correct GL revenue routing.
• Collaborate with Implementation to complete post-sale setup before billing.
• Work with Client Services to address billing adjustments or data corrections.
• Process ad hoc billing requests and ensure invoice accuracy and revenue postings.
• Support month-end close with billing reports and revenue reconciliation.
• Maintain billing records for audit/compliance.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Billing Analyst will report to the Director, Revenue Accounting in the Finance Department. The Billing Analyst is responsible for reviewing client contracts and fee schedules, ensuring all billing information is accurate, compliant, and properly recorded in the accounting system. This role serves as the key link between Sales, Implementation, Client Services, and Accounting, ensuring seamless setup of new clients and accurate revenue recognition after a sale closes.

• Review finalized client contracts and fee schedules to confirm accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
• Verify that all documentation is signed and that pricing and terms align with approved deal structures.
• Set up fee schedules and billing items in the accounting system, ensuring correct routing to general ledger (GL) revenue accounts.
• Collaborate with the Implementation team to confirm all post-sale setup requirements are complete before billing begins.
• Work closely with Client Services to address any urgent client requests, billing adjustments, or data corrections.
• Process ad hoc billing requests and ensure accuracy in invoices and revenue postings.
• Support month-end close by preparing billing reports, reconciling revenue accounts, and assisting with financial reporting as needed.
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance billing accuracy, efficiency, and communication across teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• 2+ years of accounting, billing, or contract administration experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.required

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of billing systems, GL coding, and revenue recognition.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in contract and data review.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Pay Range

$27.45/hr-$31.00/hr

The compensation for this position will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive and bonus opportunities.
