Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of billing experience in home health care.

  • Perform claim audit reviews for Medicare and Commercial payers.
  • Manage Medicare claims workflow and process Oasis reports.
  • Address billing queue calls and collect patient payments.

Job Description

SUMMARY

Support Billing management to ensure timely and accurate claims filing with payers and intermediaries. Monitor claims for timely payment processing and rejections, and work Accounts Receivable weekly.

BILLING ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  1. Perform claim audit reviews for Medicare, PDGM Medicare, and Commercial payers.
  2. Make daily RAP/NOA and EOE submissions to the state for all payers.
  3. Manage Medicare/Medicare PDGM Claims Held workflow.
  4. Process Oasis reports.
  5. Review unbilled reports for Medicare and Non-Medicare weekly.
  6. Bill Medicare/Non-Medicare claims daily.
  7. Work daily NOA's at Risk Report.
  8. Verify visits have usual and customary rates and contractual adjustments bi-weekly.
  9. Address Medicare/Non-Medicare claim rejections.
  10. Enter billing notes on accounts over 30 days.
  11. Make insurance calls to check claim status.
  12. Process requests for additional information from insurance companies.
  13. Respond to billing queue calls.
  14. Collect patient payments via phone.
  15. Work monthly Medicare, Medicare HMO, and third-party agency billing.
  16. Review Monthly SOX report for accounts over 30 days with billing notes.
  17. Handle payer changes.
  18. Cover department duties during employee absence.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

BILLING ANALYST REQUIREMENTS

To perform successfully, must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 1-5 years billing experience in home health care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of HCHB, Esolutions, Waystar, and web portals.
  • Knowledge of Medicare FSSO DDE software.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, cooperative attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain in good standing any relevant professional licenses or certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, handle objects, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close focus and adjustable focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily in a clerical office setting, using standard office equipment. May involve travel and exposure to weather conditions.
