Job summary

SHAZAM is looking for a Billing Analyst in Des Moines, IA, a hybrid role requiring three days in the office. You will manage complex billing operations, maintain pricing programs, and support financial reporting activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of bookkeeping, billing, accounting, or related financial operations experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with billing systems, reconciliations, audits, and accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain billing accuracy by researching, analyzing, and resolving billing discrepancies, adjustments, and special pricing arrangements.
• Administer customer pricing incentives, billing configurations, and service specifications to ensure accurate invoicing and compliance with contractual agreements.
• Conduct billing audits and monitor exception reports related to fees, taxes, customer accounts, and billing processes.
• Lead sales tax compliance efforts, including tax calculations, filings, and periodic reviews of tax matrices and billing practices.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support accounts receivable activities.
• Maintain current procedures and documentation, support cross-functional training initiatives, and provide operational backup coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, and other internal teams to ensure billing integrity, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
