Job summary

Hydro in Rockledge, FL is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to receive and verify incoming materials, inspect for damage, and maintain inventory in the billet yard. The role requires forklift operation, accurate data entry, and adherence to safety and 5S standards.

You will load scrap, organize materials, and assist packing as needed, contributing to efficient material flow and a safe, clean workplace at Hydro.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with data entry and basic PC skills.
• Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes.
• Ability to work in a 5S environment and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming raw materials and verify against packing lists and POs.
• Inspect materials for damage and discrepancies.
• Maintain raw material inventory in the yard.
• Safely load scrap materials using forklifts.
• Enter receiving data into computer systems.
• Keep billet yard and cardboard warehouse clean and organized.
• Adhere to HSE, quality, and productivity standards.
• Support packing or other areas as needed.

What you will be doing

• Receive incoming raw materials/cardboard and verify shipments against packing lists, purchase orders, and other receiving documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, discrepancies, or other issues and communicate any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform cleaning of aluminum billets as required to ensure materials meet established quality and production standards.
• Organize, stage, and maintain raw material inventory within the yard to ensure proper identification, accessibility, and efficient material flow.
• Safely load scrap materials onto designated trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring proper handling, loading, and compliance with established safety procedures.
• Conduct routine scrap inventory counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and documentscrap material quantities. Identify and report any inventory discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
• Accurately enter receiving information into the appropriate computer systems and maintainorganized records of all incoming materials and shipments.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to unload, transport, organize, and stage raw materials and supplies.
• Respond to inquiries, provide directions and other information to drivers.
• Maintain the billet yard, cardboard warehouse, and surrounding work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition in accordance with 5S standards.
• Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• All safety policies and procedures must be adhered to.
• Support packing or other areas as needed or designate.
