Job summary

American Senior Communities seeks a Biller for the Central Billing Office in Indianapolis. The role handles data entry of accounts receivable, bank deposits, reconciliation of cash, and co-insurance billing for hospice/home health lines.

Responsibilities include posting payments, submitting claims, and month-end processing. Candidates should have an associate degree or equivalent, and experience with hospice/home health billing, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and UB04 forms.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years related experience and/or training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with hospice, home health, and palliative billing
• Experience with Medicaid Hospice Room & Board billing
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations including billing guidelines
• Knowledge of insurance billing guidelines
• Familiar with UB04
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures; write business correspondence; present information to field, peers, and leaders.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts; apply basic algebra.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Posts third-party payments on accounts.
• Submits co-insurance claims to insurance companies, electronically or hard copy.
• Reviews insurance aging and follows up on outstanding co-insurance claims.
• Validates claims are set to pay.
• Validates payer name override is present where required.
• Completes month-end processing and billing.
• Completes special projects as assigned.
• Saves files to Shared Drive as needed.
• Demonstrates teamwork and regular attendance.
• Demonstrates CARE values to residents, family, customers and staff.
