Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Job Overview

As a key member of our logistics department, the Biller will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our freight forwarding operations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of freight documentation, invoicing procedures, and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Billing and Invoicing: Generate and verify accurate invoices for freight shipments in accordance with established billing procedures. Ensure completeness and correctness of billing documentation, including freight manifests, shipping orders, and relevant customs paperwork.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary information for billing purposes.
• Rate Calculation: Calculate shipping rates based on weight, volume, and destination, ensuring adherence to company pricing policies. Verify and cross‑reference rates with contractual agreements and customer‑specific pricing structures.
• Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up‑to‑date records of all billing‑related documents. Archive and file documentation for future reference and audit purposes.
• Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and resolution of issues. Provide detailed and accurate information to clients regarding freight charges, taxes, and other related queries.
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements related to freight billing. Ensure all billing practices adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including operations and finance, to streamline billing processes and address any discrepancies.
• Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes promptly and professionally. Implement corrective measures to prevent recurring issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in freight forwarding billing or a similar role within the logistics industry.
