Job summary

Children's Aid seeks a Group Leader to work with youth, plan and implement curriculum-based activities, and strengthen academic and social-emotional skills. The role emphasizes engaging sessions, college prep, tutoring, and family collaboration in a NYC context.

The Group Leader will manage groups of teens, develop life skills, and lead project-based learning, with weekend or evening hours as needed to support youth development.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience working with children or families.
• Bilingual English-Spanish is required.
• Knowledge of youth development principles and youth programs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
• Conduct strategic planning to develop and implement services and activities for youth.
• Manage Adolescent groups of 10-15 members, ages 13–18 years.
• Provide creative educational ideas to foster a safe and stimulating academic environment.
• Plan, organize and implement educational project-based learning activities.
• Provide College preparation and instruction.
• Provide whole group and one-on-one tutoring.
• Collaborate with Center staff to coordinate referrals and information sharing.
• Train youth in peer education and leadership development.
• Plan and lead educational and recreational trips for youth.
• Interact with parents to understand youth needs and communicate effectively.
