Job summary

Interstate Waste Services in Teaneck, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to manage a caseload across New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. You will investigate losses, evaluate compensability, establish reserves, and drive claims to timely, fair resolution while communicating with injured employees, employers and medical providers.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of adjuster experience, a bachelor’s degree, and knowledge of state laws.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, risk management, finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience handling claims in NJ, NY or CT with jurisdictional knowledge.
• Active adjuster licenses or ability to obtain required licenses.
• Experience with medical management, return-to-work and litigation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage workers’ compensation claims from inception through closure.
• Review claim documentation to determine compensability and reserve requirements.
• Establish and adjust reserves as claims develop.
• Coordinate with employers, injured workers, medical providers, attorneys and other stakeholders.
• Monitor treatment plans, negotiate settlements within authority, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain timely claim documentation in the claims management system.
