Job summary

Washington County is seeking a Bilingual Nutrition Technician (Spanish/English) to join the WIC program within Public Health. Responsibilities include participant enrollment, orientation, benefit issuance, and file maintenance, along with referrals and risk assessments.

You will provide nutrition education and counseling to participants, assess eligibility and status for the WIC program, and work mostly in-person across county clinics with some travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years of health-related work experience.
• Must pass written and oral Spanish fluency assessments.
• Background check post offer and ability to respond to public health emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Enroll participants, conduct orientation, issue benefits and maintain files.
• Identify nutrition/health referrals and perform risk assessments.
• Provide nutrition education in individual and group settings and counseling to WIC participants.
• Assess nutrition status and eligibility for the WIC program.
