Complex Media, Inc. is hiring part-time Freelance Social Editors to support Complex Latin's daily social content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and YouTube Shorts. You will write and edit bilingual copy in English and Spanish, identifying timely stories and cultural conversations that resonate with U.S.

Latino audiences. Working remotely on weekends, you’ll collaborate with the lead Social Editor and the broader team, publish under editorial guidelines, and help shape a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in social media publishing, digital editorial, or content creation.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. Latino culture and its diverse communities.
• Strong understanding of Complex's editorial identity and the intersections between Latin culture, hip-hop, sneakers, sports, and broader pop culture.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills.
• Experience using social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube Shorts) and adapting content for each platform.
• Experience with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day content creation, curation, and publishing across Complex Latin’s social channels.
• Identify and execute timely stories, breaking news, and cultural conversations relevant to Complex Latin’s audience.
• Write, edit, and publish bilingual social copy in English and Spanish.
• Create and edit social-first assets (graphics, carousels, short videos) using templates and brand guidelines.
• Ensure content is accurate, sourced, and culturally authentic.
• Collaborate with the lead Social Editor and broader team to coordinate coverage.
• Support live social coverage of major cultural moments and tentpoles.
• Assist with social execution of commerce, experiential, and branded initiatives.
• Follow editorial workflows and tagging requirements for consistency.
• Incorporate feedback and platform best practices into daily work.
