Job summary

West Lake Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Receptionist for a full-time, 4-day work week. The role focuses on front-desk duties, client/pet interactions, and accurate record keeping, with Friday–Sunday off.

Spanish language skills are a plus, and experience with Cornerstone is helpful. You will work in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining schedules and processing payments.

Qualifications

• 1 year of veterinary experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience handling cash and credit card payments.
• Cornerstone experience is helpful.
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in stressful situations, working independently or on a team.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets with compassion and empathy
• Answer phones and respond to client questions
• Schedule appointments and check clients in and out
• Process all forms of payment, including cash and credit cards
• Enter and maintain accurate client and patient records in Cornerstone
• Share basic information on animal health, well-being, and routine procedures with clients
• Stay calm and organized during busy or stressful moments
