One80 Intermediaries is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our New York, NY team onsite. You will provide administrative and clerical support to underwriting staff, helping ensure smooth operations and accurate documentation while learning the underwriting process under guidance from experienced professionals.

You'll gain exposure to underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and policy development, collaborating with agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and clarify

Formación

• Associate degree or higher in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin strongly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of insurance principles and practices preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in assessing risk.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsabilidades

• Learn underwriting guidelines and policies: familiarize yourself with the company's underwriting guidelines and the criteria used to assess risk.
• Analyze insurance applications: review applications, verify information, and evaluate potential risks.
• Gather and evaluate data: collect and analyze data on applicant background and risk factors.
• Assist with risk assessment: work with underwriters to evaluate level of risk.
• Policy development: assist in developing new insurance policies and products for specific markets or industries.
• Communicate with insurance agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and clarify questions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and underwriting techniques.
