Job summary

Northwestern Settlement is seeking a School Embedded Therapist to provide trauma-informed, strength-based therapy for a caseload of school-aged children and their families in Chicago. The role focuses on collaborative treatment planning, coordination with providers, and thorough documentation reached through Medicaid platforms.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling and an IL license (LCPC/LCSW/LMFT).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field.
• Illinois clinical license (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred.
• Experience with evidence-based or evidence-informed treatment modalities such as Theraplay or ARC framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic treatment to a caseload of school-aged children and their families.
• Coordinate services with other providers and develop referral plans.
• Complete documentation including assessments and service notes using Medicaid platforms.
• Services provided at the agency office; telehealth as needed.

Position: School Embedded Therapist - Full TimeReports to: VP, Family CaresCompensation: $60,000 to $70,000Location: Chicago, ILNorthwestern Settlement is a dynamic and innovative leader in creating transformation opportunities forchildren and families to disrupt generational poverty. The therapistwill maximize opportunities for children and adults to meet social/emotional goals as set forth by NorthwesternSettlement’s vision.Key Duties/Responsibilities: Provide therapeutic treatment to a case-load of school-aged children and their families, providingtrauma-informed, strength-based clinical interventions targeting individualized, collaboratively developedtreatment plan goals. Services provided at the agency office. Coordinate services with other relevant providers and develop appropriate referral plans. Complete thorough and timely documentation, including assessment, service notes, and other Medicaid-requiredservice documentation, using web-based client services platforms.Qualifications/Experiences: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field. Illinois clinical license (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred. Experience with an evidence-based or evidence-informed treatment modality, such as Theraplay, the ARCframework, or other trauma-informed practice preferred. You are skilled at communicating both verbally and in writing, in English and Spanish. You are comfortable providing telehealth services as needed. You are an intuitive, nonjudgmental listener who easily builds relationships built on respect, trust and positiveregard. You are warm, flexible, and hold a strong belief that generational trauma can be healed through counseling. You are detail-driven, highly organized, and enjoy working autonomously but are also excited by big-pictureoutcomes and the opportunity to innovate and collaborate with a team to reach shared goals. You are looking for reflective, clinical supervision and opportunities for growth and training in your field.Compensation & Benefits:Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000.
