Job summary

Lutheran Community Services NW is seeking a dedicated Bilingual Teacher Interventionist/Home Visitor to support families and young children in the Relief Nursery program. The role blends classroom teaching with community home visits to promote healthy development and strong parent-child bonds.

Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish, have experience with children and families, and can navigate services and resources across diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Experience with children and families.
• Ability to relate to diverse at-risk children and families with sensitivity and respect.
• Knowledge of infant and child development.
• Oregon Background Registry clearance or ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid and Food Handler’s Card.
• Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle access.

Responsibilities

• Co-plan, implement, and post developmentally appropriate curricula for children 24 months to 5 years.
• Provide intensive home visits monthly with parenting and child development support.
• Create developmentally appropriate goals for each child.
• Make referrals to community resources and advocate for families’ needs.
• Maintain accurate home visit documentation and required screenings.
