Job summary

Shore Educational Collaborative is seeking a Therapeutic High School Teacher, bilingual in English and Spanish, to support students with disabilities in a high school therapeutic program.

In the Harbors program in Cambridge, teachers deliver individualized instruction, collaborate with student teams, and align educational paths with district requirements and student interests. The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, flexible scheduling, and community-connected learning.

Qualifications

• Flexible, collaborative, and innovative mindset around education.
• Current DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities preferred; also considered with pathway.
• Strong prior teaching experience required.
• Experience with social-emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges preferred.
• Experience with project-based, experiential, or therapeutic learning encouraged.
• Excellent classroom management, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a therapeutic setting.
• Differentiate instruction for small-group and individualized learning environments.
• Develop and implement IEPs with modifications, accommodations, progress monitoring, and data collection.
• Collaborate with related service providers, families, and staff to meet student needs.
• Use trauma-informed, restorative, and therapeutic classroom practices to create a safe learning environment.
• Maintain classroom systems and behavioral supports to promote engagement.
• Support development of executive functioning, self-advocacy, and future-readiness skills.
• Create experiential, project-based, and community-connected learning opportunities.
