Job summary

Dynamic Service Solutions in Houston, TX is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Bilingual) to support unaccompanied children with educational assessments and structured learning under ORR guidelines. The TA will implement lesson plans, organize materials, supervise youth, and foster a safe, inclusive classroom that respects diverse backgrounds while ensuring compliance with ORR policies.

Qualifications

• Education/Work Experience: Level: High school diploma or a GED.
• 1 year of experience in a classroom, community service and/or an education setting.
• 1 year of experience in relevant field.
• 1 year of experience in teaching capacity, knowledge in curriculum development and lesson planning - preferred.
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility / school - preferred.
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Provide educational services based on the Individual Academic Development, literacy level, and linguistic ability of each unaccompanied child per lesson plans and established program guidelines.
• Assist in the implementation of lesson plans. Organize, prepare, create, plan and inventory materials for daily instruction. Develop lesson plans based on facilitated Units provided every two weeks.
• Supervise youth and set appropriate behavior limits in accordance with the youth’s individual treatment and behavior plan and ORR standards.
• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive climate of learning and excellence where students can enhance their developmental growth.
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment of respect and rapport to ensure a positive learning experience for youth with diverse backgrounds.
• Ensure the educational services adhere to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies and procedures, federal, state and company legal guidelines and internal policies.
