Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington seeks a Supervising Attorney to provide legal advice and representation in immigration matters, and to mentor staff and volunteers. You will oversee 2-4 staff, coordinate with community partners, and ensure high-quality legal services.

The role requires a JD with state/DC admission, 5 years in immigration law, and supervisory experience. A commitment to professional development and a collaborative team culture is essential.

Formación

• J.D. degree and bar admission in the US (DC/MD preferred).
• Active license to practice in any state and/or DC.
• Continued Legal Education requirements must be completed.
• Minimum five years of immigration law experience as an attorney.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsabilidades

• Interview clients seeking legal assistance and advise options per current laws.
• Provide ongoing representation from intake through documents and petitions.
• Screen for navigator services and refer to Newcomer Network navigators as needed.
• Conduct community outreach and run workshops on legal issues.
• Serve as liaison between the program and community partners.
• Supervise assigned staff and volunteers; conduct evaluations and implement changes.
• Lead weekly case rounds with staff.
• Assist the Director in organizing ILS staff meetings.
• Refer cases to the Pro Bono Team and mentor pro bono attorneys.
• Ensure timely submission of program reports and assist in grant writing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
