Job summary

United Community Center is seeking a compassionate and organized Nurse to join our SUD treatment team in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will collaborate with our Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive medical care for patients in various stages of recovery.

The position requires a current RN/LPN license, at least 1–2 years of nursing experience, and bilingual skills in Spanish/English. You'll be responsible for medication management, patient assessment, and maintaining accurate health records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience; prior experience in behavioral health, SUD treatment, or detox settings is highly preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the NP during medical evaluations and follow-up visits.
• Administer and monitor Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT).
• Conduct regular withdrawal screenings using standardized tools.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
• Ensure all medical orders from the NP are executed promptly.

Skills

Understanding of the disease model of addiction

Proficiency with EHR systems

Strong de-escalation and communication skills

Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Education

Current, unrestricted RN/LPN license in the state of WI

Current BLS/ACLS certification
